Boat Vents come in two types - passive and active. Passive vents use only the movement of air outside and temperature differential to move air inside the boat. They have no moving parts but can move a good deal of air if the wind is blowing or the boat is underway. On the other hand, Active vents use an outside power source to forcibly move air into or out of the boat. They can use small batteries, solar power or a 12-volt circuit.
