How can one help a fellow cruiser who is badly suffering with sickness? An afternoon sail is one solution but what if you're sailing away for a month or so? What are your tried and tested remedies?

Try these.. 1. eat well and healthy before sailing 2. drink lots of fresh water 3. take lots of fresh air until you adapt to the environment 4. if medications are needed, take them at least an hour before actual sailing

I must admit I always get sick when sailing. What I do is that I do not go below the rough sea. But if I still feel uncomfortable, I just stand at the middle of the boat while the wind blows then simply watch the horizon.

i am telling my sister to try all those! i've come across other cruisers too and they said almost the same things. one with seasickness must keep himself busy and occupy his mind with other things instead of actually thinking that he is not feeling well; another is to breathe in fresh air and focus on different activities than the moving boat/sail; deep breathing and drinking plenty of water!
but how about drug and herbal remedies? i read about those. like Bonine and ginger ale?

Hi! I suggest that she should sail more often. She will get used to the environment.
