whicch books do i read for planning to cruise around the world?? (if God & my pocket permits haha) i've searched on the net and all i ever got is how fantastic sailing is and the islands and the cultures. how about the weather, accidents, and even the pirates? what are those extra useful books for the worst case scenarios?

Get Jimmy Cornell's world curising books.
Crusing Handbook by Nigel Calder is also a great pick i've read. It covers a bit of everything, all the basics you need to know that's sailing and cruising-related, such as the basic weather tools and prediction techniques, communication, diesel maintenance, and clearing customs, etc.. Go to a bookstore and look still for those that can help u dig deeper into the specifics of sailing.

Bill Seifert's Offshore Sailing is great. Book contains many pictures, sailing & boat tips, and how to deal with fair winds. Another is "The Long Way" by Bernard Moitessier, dis is more on solo sailing on long distance.
More books!! Eric Tabarly's Practical Yacth Handling deals w/ heavy weather. Richard Henderson's Singlehanded Sailing might also interest you.
Too many books huh? Hope they cud help!
