Internet access at sea would mean serious money! Try using HAM or SSB radio or satellite phone, way cheaper but only limited to text and weather information and much slower too. Its better to settle with that since there's almost nothing at sea that is fast. even those that come in expensive rates are also slow.
Anyway, half the thrill of being at sea is not having access to the world wide web and even to the noise on the city! Internet would only add up to your expenses. You only have to estimate your needs as much as you can whenever you go sailing.

When I once traveled with my friend, he brought his broadband modem with us so he could still connect to land-based wifi servers. Majority of the big marinas seem to have them nowadays. I've also heard of Thrane & Thrane FleetBroadband. But i'm still clueless on its specifications and price.
