my aunt recently bought a sailboat w/o refrigerator. and she also have no plans of putting one right now. ours has a frige and i honestly don't know what to tell her. so what are the tips i should give her to keep food fresh or even make ice last longer?

these are my suggestions. they might as well work (hopefully):
a. take your pressure cooker with you. and invest more on canned goods - chicken, beef, pork, etc..
b. buy eggs straight from the poultry (they last longer), not those from the supermarket
c. bring powdered milk instead of the fresh liquid ones
d. always use ice blocks, they do not melt as quickly as the cubes

here are a few more!! (1) coat the eggs with plain old cooking oil..dont worry, they seem to really last longer when not refrigerated (2) freeze big soda bottles full of water; they could last for 2 days in your well-insulated ice box (3) vacuum seal your food for longer storage (4) keep you vegies wet to maintain freshness!
