couple of questions for everyone. since sailing takes you far away from the assistance of other people, what books do you keep on board as your reference when an emergency happens? and.. what essential items do you carry with you and include in your medical kit when going on board?

i just keep a document and compilation of injuries that a sailor could possibly acquire at sea. these are significant so you'd eventually know what to keep inside your medicine kit. from those info, the type of things to be placed in your boat's med kit could match your needs.
anyway, as per our doctor, we were advised to bring morphine & antibiotics.

That's very essential. Planning for a safety trip should also include a useful emergency kit just in case an emergency happens. I usually bring an emergency kit that is loaded with first iad stuffs. i persoanlly believes that we only need stuffs for cut, wound and injuries alike.

Money is worthless when sailing. you cannot use credit cards no matter how huge your credit limits are! Thus, you must bring everything you need especially if you plan to sail for a long time. these needs vary from one sailor to another. but, first aid kits, enough food, and tools for maintaining the ship are the basics.

The things you need to bring depends on how long the trip is. Enough food, clothing, stuffs to do, and a lot of courage and determination.

It is really amazing that we all have different ideas about this one. indeed, we've got different strategies of planning.
Let us continue sharing to our fellow sailors.
