" I miss you darling, as I always do, but today is especially hard because the ocean has been singing to me, and the song is that of our life together."

Are you familiar with those lines? The novel Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks showed how sailing on a summer night made Garrete Blake found his second true love in one lifetime. He carefully dropped a message in a bottle while he was sailing. The bottle was then found by Theresa Osborne.

This heart-warming novel is full of twists and currents of sailing on the the true sense of the word. It has thoughts that could make you smile, cry, and realize that love is like sailing. Sometimes, you need to just go along with the waves and wind. But then again, sometimes, you've got to decide for yourself and sail to the direction that you want.

Likewise, sailing would not just give a lonely heart the solitude it wants. It could also make people physically fit. It would not just give happiness to your heart but health also.

Sail. Be happy. Be fit. =)

yeah. I have read that book. well, the story is nice but the story also tells the ups and downs of sailing. Garrette died because of sailing right? how can you use that story to encourage people to sail?

yeah.. that's right. Garrette died while sailing. bu, he could have had avoided that accident if he sailed in a fair weather. nwei, whether the story is true or not, a sailor should first consider his or her safety, the weather of course should be first in the list of things to be considered.

Hi there adeguia.. Looks like you read a lot while sailing! That's good. I agree with you that this story is worth telling to our fellow sailors. Accidents are yet common and nobody can really avoid if it's really time to say goodbye. and if I happen do die, I will be greatful l to die while sailing. especially if i am Loved like garrette.

I agree. Sailing is holistic activity. a lot of things are needed to be considered.
