For the longest times, i owned & sailed sloop rigged boats. Now i'm using ketch, but haven't gone through long cruise with it. Because i honestly don't know the proper way of trimming it's sail.

Got any advice?
Thanks in advance!

You can trim the sails in any way you like. In doing the actual adjustments, we do it first with the headsail, then to the main, then finally to the mizzen. It doesnt matter if the order is incorrect, it's our comfort level & it works well for our boat. You just gotta have fun & experiment with different sail configurations until you get to your own comfort level. Hope i was able to help you out!

I also agree with that.

And why not try to start with the basics? Trim form the bow then work your way aft. I mean, trim the jib by its luff teletales, then the main sail, then the mizzen. But the mizzen usually is a little over (sometimes under) trimmed so the helm can be balanced.

I sail drascombe longboats quite a lot and have found the best way of trimming the sails is good helm to crew communication to make sure all three sails are trimmed in a set order from jib to mizzen as quickly as possible.
I've had countless 'talks' about people who trim their main first but by using the jib telltails you should be able to trim faster and more effectively. Hope this helps
