• Jacket
  Weather changes constantly. Protect yourself from cool air or rain by wearing a good jacket. In addition, always keep in mind that the air is generally cooler when you are near the water, so it will do you good if you will bring your jacket even on a sunny day.



• Life Jacket
  You should always wear a Life Jacket when sailing. It is important that everyone aboard has an approved one. There are many types of Life Jackets which cater the needs of sailors and yachtsmen.



• Sailing Gloves
  Wear gloves to protect your hands when handling Sailing Lines (ropes) especially when hoisting or lowering Sails. Choose the type of gloves that are designed for the activity - those that are resistant to wear and tear when dealing with Lines. Sailing Gloves come in many types so wear the pair that meets your needs.



• Polarized Sunglasses
  Protect your eyes from sun's glare by wearing sunglasses. It is better if you have the type which fits you securely.



• Hat
  Wear a hat that can protect your head and face from harmful rays of the sun. On colder days, you can use a balaclava to prevent losing body heat through the head. As an added reminder, people should tie their long hair in a ponytail or braid to prevent it from getting caught in the Rigging.


• Footwear
  You need shoes or boots with non-slip soles. This will prevent you from sliding on the Sailboat. Non - skid footwear will give you enough grip to remain upright. Moreover, wearing shoes will protect your feet from getting hurt due to various tools on the Deck.
