Mark Reynolds Not Sure About the 2008 Olympic
WEDNESDAY, 30 AUGUST 2006
At the age of 50, Mark Reynolds is still ranked third in the United States and fourth among the world’s Star skippers. But when asked about the sailing competition in China for the 2008 Olympic Games, the sailing star admitted that he’s not real serious about it.
"It’s harder to compete against the younger guys in a breeze plus an Olympic campaign takes a lot of time and energy. It’d be fun to go again. I’m not just sure I want to campaign like you’d need to", the sailing star further explained.
Reynolds started as a crewman for Flying Dutchman skipper Augie Diaz in the 1980 Olympics and it was in 1986 that he first launched his first star campaign as a skipper. He won several gold medals and named National and International Yachtsman of the Year in 2000.
