Echevarri and Paz Win Lars Grael Trophy

MONDAY, 27 NOVEMBER 2006

Fernando Echavarri and his crew Anton Paz from Spain has won the Lars Grael Trophy during the ISAF Grade C1 Tornado South Americans held in San Isidro, Argentina last Sunday, November 26.

Echevarri and Paz emerged on top with 40 points. They were followed by Australians Darren Bundock and Glenn Ashby, and Johannes Polgar and Florian Spalteholz from Germany. "We sailed the whole race together with Mitch Booth, very close (sic). Darren Bundock and jojo Polgar were behind us so any mistake could cost us the Championship. We chose not to loose control of the situation by risking too much," Paz explained.

Meanwhile, sixth placers Santiago Lange and his crew Carlos Espinola emerged as the South American Champions. Bruno Di Bernardo and Andre Chang from Brazil finished runners up.
