Women Sailors Win 29er World Championship |

Sophie Weguelin and Sophie Ainsworth, former rival British sailors, have teamed up during the 2007 29er World Championship and successfully earned the title Ladies World Champion.
Weguelin and Ainsworth are both members of the RYA Youth Squad. They brought home two gold medals during the world championship held at Argentina from January 21-27.

Argentina Dominates 29er World Championship |

Teams from Argentina have swept the top seven places in the 29er World Championship held at the Club Nautico de San Isidro, Argentina.
Argentine pair Matas Gainza Eurnekian and Federico Villambrosa won the championship title. Pepe Bettini and Matas Keller and Ignacio Fernandez Besada and Tigris Martirosjan took the second and third places, respectively.

Stamm Leads Velux 5 Oceans Race |

Swiss skipper Bernard Stamm is still the leader of the fleet of yachtsmen competing for the Velux 5 Oceans Race, the longest and toughest solo race around the world.

Athletes numbering up to 855 from 48 countries will competing for the US Sailing's 2007 Rolex Miami OCR starting today until Friday at Biscayne Bay.

Entries for ISAF World Championships Until Jan 31 |

More than 40 nations have already applied for entry to the ISAF Sailing World Championships scheduled on June 28 - July 13 at Cascais, Portugal.
Deadline of entries is until January 31. ISAF Member National Authorities have to submit their application for one Priority Place in the eleven events included in the Championships. "So far the response to online entry has been very enthusiastic.
