US Sailing's 2007 Rolex Miami OCR Starts Today

Athletes numbering up to 855 from 48 countries will competing for the US Sailing's 2007 Rolex Miami OCR starting today until Friday at Biscayne Bay.
The Rolex Miami OCR, an annual event in its 18th year, is an ISAF Grade-One ranking event. Events included in the Rolex Miami OCR are 49er, 470 (Men and Women), Finn, Laser, Laser Radial, Neil Pryde RS:X (Men and Women), Star, Tornado, and Yngling which are all events for the next Olympic Games. 2.4mR, SKUD-18, and Sonar, which are events for the 2008 Paralympic Games, are also included. The Rolex Miami OCR is a qualifying event for the US Sailing Team and US Disabled Sailing Team.
The United States is the largest contingent with 170 boats. Canada is the second largest with 70 boats while Great Britain and Germany have 39 and 25 boats, respectively. Fleet racing is scheduled today until Friday while medal racing is slated on Saturday.
