A new trend is taking place among Israelis, and it’s the growing interest in the sport of sailing. This is according to www.israeltoday.co.il.
The Transport Ministry's Shipping and Ports Authority released a recent data showing that there are over 100,000 registered yachtsmen and 2,715 registered yachts in Israel. The number of yachts in Israel has increased by 268 percent in 12 years.
The Herzliya Marina has 592 yachts docked at its port while the Tel Aviv marina has 415 yachts. Ofer Dovnov, Tel Aviv marina manager, has related that as more marinas are constructed, more sea vessels are becoming accessible to Israelis.
