HanseCup Celebrates Ten Years of Existence
WEDNESDAY, 29 AUGUST 2007
Ten years of HanseCup is a reason to celebrate! From August 31st until September 4th the jubilee edition of this sporting family event, which already is one of the largest regattas in the Baltic area, will take place.
The fleet of Hanse yachts will experience the beauty of the region in four legs: Greifswald – Sassnitz, Sassnitz – Hiddensee, Hiddensee – Stralsund and Stralsund – Greifswald. These are daily legs of approximately 100 nautical miles around the island of Rügen. The focus is on the fun of sailing for everybody, especially for the many family crews taking part.
Following the track of the ancient sailors of the Hanse period this get together along with culinary delights is highly appreciated. The organisers take care of this in every harbour, after the day's sailing. The sailors are already looking forward to the "birthday concert" to be performed by a band from Greifswald on the first evening.
Everybody who owns or charters a Hanse yacht can sail in the HanseCup. This year more than 60 Hanse yachts are expected to to take part – almost the complete model range from the old Hanse 291 up to the new Hanse 470. It’s a new record!
Many families, business crews, Hanse owners and fans of Hanse yachts will experience five unforgettable days within the Hanse family, in what has, since 1998, been a fixed event in the regatta calendar of the Hanse sailors.
