Annapolis Sail Show Ends on High Note

FRIDAY, 19 OCTOBER 2007

The five-day Annapolis Sail Show attracting attendees numbering in the thousands from the U.S. and abroad, concluded Monday, October 8th 2007.

Three crews working three double shifts were used to erect the floating nomad city that is the Annapolis Sailboat Show. It took a whole lot less time to break it all down.

For The Catamaran Company, show breakdown started at 5:45pm. Sails were lowered and their exhibiting area picked clean, leaving it as neat as it was found. All potted plants, banners and miscellaneous decorations were loaded onto the decks and saloons of some of the catamarans making their return to Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Once displays are down the boat show breaks apart like a melting glacier. The outer boats, also the biggest, melt away as workers hustle to clear lanes among the floating docks. The catamarans sweep gracefully into the sunset, picking their way smoothly around the private boats at anchor out in the creek. The catamarans are the only boats in the show to get away in tranquility.

However they didn’t have very far to go. The Lagoon 380, 420, 440, and 500 had one last stop: Multihull Demo Days held at Performance Cruising Marina about ½ mile from the location of the Sailboat show.

For ten years, Multihull Demo Days has been the best event for people who are seriously thinking about buying a boat as it allows a buyer to experience what its like under sail. This year The Catamaran Company had over 25 participants, with special interest in the Lagoon 380 and 420 models.

Overall the show was an extreme success for the Company, having been named Dealer of the Year for the fourth year running. Additionally two of their top salesmen - John Anderson & Brent Hermann - were awarded Broker of the Year.
