Capital Insurance ACT Dinghy Titles Starts Nov. 24

The Capital Insurance Brokers ACT Dinghy Championships November 24 and 25 entries are now open. The Canberra Yacht Club is getting ready for a fleet of over 100 dinghies to participate in the championships.
The regatta, which is sponsored by 1976 470 bronze medalist Ian Ruff, will include a number of different classes using two courses on Lake Burley Griffin.
The regatta will also be the ACT State Titlles for the Flying Dutchman, Tasar, NS14 and Optimist classes. The Optimist Class will provide coach Rob Brewer on the water for the weekend making it a great training weekend. Optis are expected form Victoria and New South Wales.
Ex-world champion Fred McCrossin for the FD class will be up against local sailor Ian Ruff and world ranked sailors like Norm Rydge and Micheal Chapman. Ex-world champion Rob and Nicole Douglass will also be out to defend theur ACT Tasar Title against a quality 30-boat fleet.
A dinner for all participants will take place on Saturday night. Canberra has an extensive list of things to do for those not taking part of the sailing.
Polling booths will also be located close by.
