Yaka Adds Adventure Sports to Mumbai Boat Show
THURSDAY, 28 FEBRUARY 2008
Adventure sports company, Yaka, is bringing the world’s leading brands of kayaks to the Mumbai International Boat Show 2008 (Feb.29 - March 2), and will be introducing equipment for exciting up and coming sports like power kiting and kite surfing.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to buy kayaks, kites and kiteboards at special Boat Show discount prices, and Yaka will be staging regular demonstrations at the Gateway of India. Customers who want to ‘try before they buy’ can put the kayaks through their paces on the water at a nearby location.
Yaka is the exclusive Indian distributor of the prestigious Perception and Mission kayaks, Peter Lynn kites, and Underground kiteboards - all manufactured in New Zealand. A range of clothing, buoyancy aids and accessories, designed to help people get the best out of their time on the water, will also be available at the show.
Greg Bourne, director of Yaka, comments: “Our range of sit-on-top kayaks, on display at the show, can be used by absolute beginners, and families need look no further for lightweight kayaks that are easy to transport. Their user-friendly handling also makes them ideal for holiday resorts and adventure sports companies to hire out to guests.”
Kayaking is a popular eco-friendly sport across the world and, with rivers, rapids, backwaters and beaches in abundance, India has the potential to become a global kayaking destination. Yaka will be exhibiting a range of models for every type of paddling experience – sea kayaking and surfing at the beach, exploring backwaters, whitewater, and touring rivers and lakes.
Greg adds: “If you’re a distributor, boat manufacturer or tour operator and think that kayaks would be a good fit with your business, Yaka is looking for dealers and stockists around India. Come and talk to us at the show.”
